Maria Haddad, 30 Amman

Beit Sitti

Beit Sitti, a project launched by Maria Haddad and her two sisters, Dina and Tania, is quickly becoming a beloved social and cultural institution in Jordan. The initiative works to preserve Jordan’s rich cultural and culinary legacy, employing local women to teach the art of cooking traditional Arabic cuisine. Over the course of a few hours, visitors to Beit Sitti are given step-by-step instructions for preparing a three-course Arabic meal using fresh, local ingredients. While enjoying an idyllic view of downtown Amman, guests receive an authentic culinary experience, including tips and advice from women with a lifetime of cooking experience.
