Desert Children Initiative

The Desert Children Initiative, launched by Tamer Al Hrazneh, is a not-for-profit organization that works with the Ministry of Education to facilitate youth-led activities targeting children in rural areas. The initiative teaches youth leaders and volunteers how to organize and carry out physical, cultural and educational activities for children in southern Jordan. In addition to training 50 youth volunteers, the initiative has organized 27 physical education activities and 31 cultural and educational  activities for children in Aqaba and the surrounding region. Through his project, Tamer has forged partnerships with major organizations and institutions like Madrasati, Al-Balqa Applied University, and Shabab Al Ghad. To date, the Desert Children Initiative has trained more than 140 volunteers, benefitting more than 1,750 children.
